Four of our five boys received suits of armour for Christmas. David (the oldest, who is not shown here) has a suit, too, but won't get it for a couple of weeks.
Back row: Philip (7), Matthew (8)
Front row: Daniel (5), Tim (3)
It isn't quite an Ent from Fangorn Forest, but the boys are experiencing playing with a large tree. All of the trees at our house are new, and not ready for climbing in yet. Perhaps in 10 years ...
It's definitely not as racy as Eric's X-15, but it is homemade by Katrina's father ... albeit for his own three daughters 2-3 decades ago. Here's Philip in the driver's seat, with David as the engine ... enjoying our long driveway for speed racing.
You should have heard the boys earlier today. I told them that once we were here and the driveway done, we'd buy another radio-controlled car. In the van today, they were talking about what they wanted to get, and I think they got up to about 15 or so vehicles, including a helicopter. Talk about spiralling aspirations!!! And they were all keen to go and purchase all of them immediately.
The boys have been unwell with colds, croup (Daniel and Tim), and sore throats (including Katrina). Saturday I was up to Daniel 9-10 times, and Monday night up to Tim 5-6 times. That's tiring. Anyway, regardless of that, imagine my delight when the above scene took place out of the front room window on Tuesday morning. That moss covered power pole is no more!
The boys *love* play-acting at being policemen, complete with "robbers" and other baddies. We now have our very own police car for chasing said baddies whenever they appear.
